  • Handle cases involving labor relations and individual rights in the workplace, e.g., harassment, discrimination, and wrongful termination claims.
  • Litigate on behalf of workers in state and federal courts, the EEOC, and the HRC.
  • Represent Washington Education Association covered employees for matters involving school districts and the Office of Professional Practices.
  • Advise business clients on legal issues stemming from the relationship between employers and employees.
  • Prepare and revise collective bargaining agreements, employment agreements, contracts, company policies, and employee handbooks.
  • Create written content on employment law and present during educational seminars.

When you start, in the first 90 days you will:

  • Get acquainted with our staff who will support your attorney work.
  • Learn how we handle cases with direction and mentoring from our senior attorneys.
  • Establish relationships with existing clients and counsel new clients.
  • Take a leadership role in handling client matters.

We are looking for an attorney with the following qualifications:

  • Someone whose interests align with our firm's core values.
  • Five or more years of litigation experience focused on the representation of employers and/or workers in labor disputes.
  • Substantial knowledge of state and local government employment-related procedures.
  • Demonstrated accomplishments in legal research, writing, and analysis. Previous judicial clerkship experience preferred.
  • An engaging communicator who can negotiate and persuade others.
  • Licensed in Washington and admitted to practice in Washington state and federal courts.

  • After the initial in-office onboarding period, hybrid office/remote available.
  • Rate of pay depends on how well you match our values and job qualifications.
